The purpose of SARA is to provide strong leadership that establishes and supports athletic excellence, to promote the development of first-rate U.S. Ski & Snowboard ski competition and training programs in the southeastern United States, to cooperate and maintain good relationships with local, regional and national ski associations, ski areas and surrounding communities, and to participate in its programs and administer U.S. Ski & Snowboard-sanctioned, scored and unscored, alpine ski races in SARA at ski resorts within the region of Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina for a variety of ages and athletic ability levels.
